Maggie and Michael, since Stacy is brand new to WikiTree, I'll walk her through the steps.
Stacy,
First of all, don't worry about bothering any of us, whether through a personal email or a question on G2G. We're all here to help each other build the worldwide tree.
To begin, copy the WikiTree ID for the first profile you created for your son. One of the places you'll find his ID is in the URL near the top of the page. Let's give an example of Jack Noname or Jack Nonames. His first Wiki ID might be Noname-1. His second profile might have an ID of Nonames-2. Copy the ID, Noname-1, then go to the profile page for Nonames-2 and scroll to near the bottom of the page.
On the left hand side of the page, you'll see "Pending Merges." Below that it should say "None."
Under that you'll see "initiate a merge." Click on that.
The "Matching and Merging Profiles" page will open up. The first ID box will have "Nonames-2" already inserted.
You'll paste Noname-1 into the second box. The reason you initiate the merge by clicking on the last profile you created is because we merge the last profile into the first profile created. The higher number will almost always go in the top box. This is especially true when the profiles are of the same person, but they are in different family trees.
Next click the "Merge" button below the IDs.
Since you are the creator of both profiles, another screen will pop up asking you to choose which information you want to include in the profile Noname-1. This is where you can choose the correct data.
Paul Bech has created a merging video on YouTube:

You can also go to the "Help" section on WikiTree and look up "Merging." You can initiate a merge from that page if you prefer.

Hope this helps.
