Do you have information about Margaret MacLean born Glascow 1896

+1 vote
My grandmother, Margaret MacLean was born in Scotland around 1896.  She moved to the United States and married and had a family here.  She died in 1971.  She had siblings, some of which I believe came to the U.S. and some who remained in Scotland.  I would like to trace our Scotish ancestry.

I live in Glasgow so would be happy to help with any specific questions but you can do this pretty easily on the pay per view ScotlandsPeople website assuming you have the parent's names from her marriage or death cert in the US? If you don't it may be harder as the surname is quite common. There were 27 people born in Scotland with that name in 1896 for example. Once you have the line back to the period 1855-1874 you can get a lot of it free using the IGI extracted records on familysearch.
