I would like to know where in Ireland my grtx3 grandfather came from (possibly Cork)

Mallow, Fermoy ?

He was a stonemason by trade.

He married an Englsh woman Ina non-conformist church in Hampton Wick in

1827.

He was possibly living in Westmnster with his family prior to his marriage.

Any ideas would be vey much appreciated.

Hi Marilyn,

Try using Roots Ireland  http://www.rootsireland.ie/

for your search there are only 99 Michael Murphy birth records in an all county Ireland seacrh for the year 1800 plus or minus 5 years. If you have any more information regarding him then that could narrow the search considerably.

Thanks Nicholas for responding.

I do not have an exact date of birth, as I thought it would be impossible to

get the correct certificate from Ireland with just his name, knowing how many

Murphys there are in Ireland.

He s on the 1840, 50, English Census, easy to pick up as his wife's name is

Rhoda and hs firstborn John William..

I haven't got access to the census records  at the moment, but I tend to think he

was born about 1801.

Is that any help ?

Thanks,

Marilyn.
