Hi, first time posting on G2G.
I've been fleshing out the biography of my ggg grandmother, Hannah Plummer (Plummer-3874) and I'm interested to find out what happened to her husband Henry (Beech-933).
They married in 1835 and had two (known) children. They lived in Worksop, in Nottinghamshire, England. I have a decent candidate for Henry on the 1841 census, and he was the informant for the registration of his mother's death in 1847, but then nothing. I can't find any more records relating to him.
In 1851 Hannah was living with his brother William (Beech-930), but they describe her as still married. She had another daughter, Jane (Beech-769), in January of that year, but I suspect that the father was William (and Jane seems to have thought this too). By 1861 Hannah was described in the census as a widow, and was still living with William.
The most likely thing is that he died and I just haven't located the death record yet (or no record exists), but I wonder if he ran away and started a new life somewhere else.
Interestingly a similar thing looks to have happened to Jane. Her first husband Edmund Simmons (Simmons-16435) is equally elusive.
Thanks, Jeremy
