Do 19th C church records for Oelsberg, Rhein-Lahn-Kreis exist on-line?

Or for neighbouring Nastätten? I believe they were formerly in the Rheingaukreis.

I can't find Oelsberg in the familysearch catalogue, I can find Nastätten, but they only hold it on microfilm and it is unindexed.

The Curchbooks of the evangelical church would be in the parish of

Ruppertshofen Oelsberg

  • Taufregister 1817-1845, Trauregister 1818-1825, Beerdigungsregister 1817-1846, Konfirmandenregister 1817-1845
  • Taufregister 1846-1875, Trauregister 1846-1875, Beerdigungsregister 1846-1875, Konfirmandenregister 1846-1875

They are online at Archion. If you give me some minutes I could have a quick look.

So I checked the births between 1835 and 1845, and the marriages from 1860 to 1875. There is no sign for anyone named Auer in this period of time. Sorry.

Danny is right; I checked also matricula, but they don't have a Catholic church.

The Rhein-Lahn-Kreis exist since 1969. From 1962 - 1969 Oelsberg belongs to the Loreleykreis; 1969 this Kreis was meged with the Unterlahnkreis to the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis.

Before 1962 the Loreleykreis was called Kreis Sankt Goarshausen since 1886. Between 1867 and 1886 it was the Unterlahnkreis.

From 1866 - 1945 this area belongs to the Province Hessen-Nassau of the Kingom/Free State Preußen. After  the WW II it belongs to the French occupation zone and from 1949 on to Rheinland-Pfalz.

Hi Dieter

Wilhelm's place of birth (ca 1840) on his second marriage record (in Australia) is Ölsberg, Nassau. Do you think I have it correct that this is actually Oelsberg currently in Rhein-Lahn-Kreis?

This seems like the best fit and it is also reasonably close geographically to the DNA connection I'm trying to find a paper trail for.
Yes Mark. It is the same location.
