Epidemics, causes of death Upper Canada 1843

Does anyone know if there was any specific epidemics in 1843 in what is now Peel County, Ontario, Canada?

I have a family who had 3 children die in less than a week in Feb 1843, the children were ages 8, 6 and 3 years, there were also 3 younger children who survived to adulthood.

There are no death records.

Thanks Marion,

Cholera was my first choice, as a cousin of this family had died of cholera in the 1832 epidemic but they were living in crowded conditions in York/Toronto at that time.

My thought had been that as the family lived in a very rural area with only about 200 people maybe less it should have been cleaner and safer.

New arrivals to the area could have brought cholera, typhus, or other disease.
