Desire Ashley 13 Sep 1807 in Poultney, 1810 census living in Poultney, 1940 census in Wells, Vermont, d, 10 Mar 1849 Wells, VT. Desire received a pension for his service in the War of 1812. I did see some old genform discussion on his parentage and the researcher M. Matthews figures it was either Nathaniel, James, or Ithamar.
