This is what I know about John Manhart.

DOB 8-June-1938 DOD 14-January-2019

Parents were Leon and Delores (Whittaker) Manhart

Military 1958-1960 He served on the USS Intrepid CVS-11. Not sure of dates that he served on the USS Intrepid. Possibly 1959.

His wife was Evelyn (Brodowsky) Manhart. They were married 28-December-1962

He does not have a WikiTree ID yet

Wife: Evelyn Brodowsky Married on 28 December 1962

UPDATE: He was a petty officer 2nd class. PO2 (E5). He was a parachute rigger Second class.

I do not know if this helps but I can't help but note the similarities with this profile of Lt General Ashton Herbert Manhart of WWII and Korea. I could not see a relationship link to Leon but I bet it is there and Gen Manhart probably influenced the career of your fellow.
