Looking for parents or any info of Ellis Marquis, Marquess in Prince William County, Virginiain 1600's early 1700's

I am out of the Ellis line, I have been stumped for years on this Ellis. Not sure how he got here or when? I think he is the father of my William Marquis in Posey Count Ind. Would love to know where he came from when and any info about his family. Thanks in advanced
