Disputed identity and parents of Mary (Burton) Perkins

+6 votes

Mary (Burton) Perkins is currently shown as part of the Puritan Migration, but shouldn't she be part of the Southern Colonies project instead?

It appears that there is no source for her maiden name or parents, so they should be removed if nobody has any good information.  A lot of sources are quoted on the findagrave profile of Mary's husband here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=101264656

Marianne Burton  was married in 2002 to a Travis E Perkins,. wich made her Marianne Burton Perkins
The topic is about a person who lived in Virginia when it was a colony.  Any references to someone married in 2002 is really off topic!

Perkins-1806 is a duplicate, also with wrong LNAB.  But there seems to be uncertainty over how many Richard Parkers there were in Virginia, so that's another can of worms.

PS just noticed this is an old thread.

The last name Burton has been removed then someone puts it back in. So easier just to put in disputed last name.. I did find one record of her name as Burton in Ancestry so i think it probable is. US and International records i put in comments but have not seen the actual documents being no longer a member of Ancestry. Whether her father is John Burton there is no source. Not same John as John of Longfield. So any new info would be helpful. Yes there is alot of sources for Nicholas Perkins

A different Richard Parker-91 also married a widow whose maiden name is said to have been Burton.  They were merged at one point.  This may explain some confusion.
