I have good information for immediate ancestors back to 1800 and for distant ancestors from 1550 back to 13th century, but due to careless researchers on ancestry.com dates, people and places are blurred and frequently incorrect. Need in particular to link William Kempe 1552-1600 or thereabouts to more recent ancestors. William Kempe was a younger son of Sir Thomas Kempe 1513-1591. My husband's line is clear back to William Kemp 1593-1657 (married to Margaret Pett). I'm pretty sure there is a link to William Kempe 1552-1600 but cannot access documents due to cost. Working online only from South Africa.

"My husband's line is clear back to William Kemp 1593-1657 (married to Margaret Pett)."

The above William and Margaret married 23 July 1621 at St Lawrence in Thanet, Kent.  If you are certain about the year of death for William Kemp, have you seen the Will for "William Kempe of St Lawrence Isle of Thanet Kent, fisherman" which was made 29th August 1656 and proved 3rd March 1657/8?  He names his wife Margaret; 2 x sons Richard and John and 4 x daughters Margaret, Grace, Elizabeth and Mary - available here https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7549065 - it is free to download (if this is your family).
