Transcribing early 17th century English script

I've transcribed most of an old will, but I'm having trouble with abbreviations like

als with a line over it (not sure of that last letter) used to join two surnames possibly for a hyphenated name

an opening parenthesis with no closing

a’ a’ possibly “aforesaid”

to see the original go to

This is a possible grandfather of the ID below. I' be putting up new linked profiles soon.

Fifth line of your transcript - trusting and beleeving [assuredly] ....

Eighth line of your transcript - the "a' a' " are used to fill-in or  complete the line.

Sixteenth line of your transcript - "my godson to be imployed" (sic) - meaning 'employed' or to be put to use.

The testator desires Mr Vincent Sparke to be his Overseer and not Sponsor.

The daughter is Mary Bishopp [als = alias] Rowland "unremembered before".

His godson is William Bishopp  [als = alias] Rowland.

Great work, anonymous. Thank you. That solves all the translation problems. u, s, and p were hard to learn. I should try another one before I forget all I learned on this one.

Can you or anyone suggest possible reasons for the alias? Ennoblement?
Alias could be for someone married twice, born out of wedlock and sometimes using the mother’s surname, other times the fathers, a stepfather’s surname or adopted, formally or informally.

Of these I have definitely seen the second a number of  times, although not in this early a time frame and not specifically using the word “alias” and also a stepfather’s name is pretty common.

just ideas.
