2nd Lt. Robert Riddle (1834 - 1906) 106th New York Co. B

We need some collaboration in finding his parental lineage and date of birth etc. we did find him mentioned by his sister who received telegram of his death in Ashtabula, Ohio. He apparently moved west after the war. It mentions 4 brothers and 3 sisters surviving him. It mentions no wife or children. The spelling could be Riddell or some variant of original.

Thank You

Could he be related to a James Alfred or a James R Riddle. Or a Ruth Riddle I have family out of Ashtabula?

Very possible based on location and LNAB smiley

I found the mother of Robert and his siblings buried in St. Lawrence County New York see her FindAGrave

Can you tell me what LNAB means please?

Possible but I’m doubtful as the date of the news clip and telegram is in 1906.

This looks plausible, Robert Riddle son of Robert and Jane Riddle, born in Scotland 1835. His sister Janet Smith mentioned in the column of the Ogdensberg newspaper for Hammond said he was raised in Hammond and was survived by four brothers and three sisters. The Census of 1860 lists this family including Robert, four brothers and two sisters. One of the sisters is Jane who could be Janet from above.
