Thank you Traci.

I was also wondering about Henry Filmer (Filmer-6).

The only trail it shows on The Magna Carta trail is to William Huntingfield.

The Ancestor Explorer shows this:

Filmer-6 (Henry Filmer) has 8 unique ancestors and 3 duplicate ancestors (additional lines of descent from a unique ancestor) within 20 generations who meet the Magna Carta Surety Barons list criteria
Hugh Bigod (2) image 1185-00-00 Suffolk, England 1225-02-18 Thetford, Norfolk, England

The trail from Henry Filmer to Huntingfield is the only one for Filmer so far badged by the Magna Carta Project. The aim of the Project, at this stage, is to investigate, write up and badge at least ONE trail from ONE Surety Baron to each Gateway Ancestor. Lots of Gateway Ancestors have more than one Surety Baron ancestor, but many of the possible trails have not yet been looked at by the Project.

Be aware that the information on relationships and lines of ancestry/descent on WikiTree is not always accurate - it is only as accurate as the information on WikiTree, and that is not always well-sourced.

A professional genealogist called Douglas Richardson, whose books "Magna Carta Ancestry" are the Project's starting point, lists only the descent of Henry Filmer from Huntingfield. Filmer may still be descended from other Surety Barons as well, and possibly this might even emerge if one put together entries in different sections of Richardson's books: but it would take research and investigation to demonstrate this.

How can one participate in one of the badging / research projects?

Please see this post in G2G: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1282391/challenge-interested-magna-ancestry-consider-joining-project?show=1282391#q1282391. It summarises the expectations we have when considering requests to join the Project and gives a link to a page with more information. If you would like to join, please read all this carefully. Thanks!

Anyone can of course post comments on profiles if they have information to contribute.

As I indicated in my previous reply, the Project is not at this stage aiming to work on every line of descent of Gateway Ancestors from Surety Barons. We have more than enough to do working towards establishing one confirmed line of descent from one Baron for each Gateway Ancestor, and making sure that profiles in the line of descent meet the high Project standards.
