Challenge of the week: Clean up GEDCOM-generated data

Hi WikiTreers,

Will you join our "Data Doctor" Challenge of the week?

Once again, Aleš has come up with something to help us work together on a category of profiles that need our help. This time it's GEDCOM-generated data that needs to be reviewed and cleaned up.

Here is the list of profiles that could use some TLC.

Will you join us?

Every time you record a status update it will earn you a point. The member with the most points at 11:59pm EDT on Sunday night will get the Winner badge this week and the bragging rights. But we'll all benefit from a neater, cleaner shared tree.

I’ve been cleaning up a lot of mine that were exported from my ged file. Count me in!

I have been doing that with the profiles I created through gedcom when I first joined wikitree.  I’ve learned so much since then and I joined the cemeterist project.  I’m working on my second cemetery and cleaning up the profiles as I get to their photo.  I have learned so much since joining wikitree and I’ve been getting all my profiles updated to inline citations.  Count me in!

I've missed the boat on this one, but would like to ask, as I've just uploaded half a dozen GEDCOMs, if I am able to share them with family and collaborators or make them public?

I am aware that they will disappear after 60 days.

For more info, they are British, and separately and unrelated Lithuanian Jews who went via England to Canada and the USA, then South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, back to Canada and the USA.

There is also an Irish leg in this lot.

I have already started working on one GEDCOM in England it has no biography or sources section in most of the profiles.
