The 1870 census for the Franklin Olliff, Olliff-50, family shows a young black male, age 13, working as a farm laborer, living with the family. This is only a few years after the end of the Civil War. I looked around the census at other homes in the area and there are no families named Goodman. Maybe it is a name he took after the war, or his family? I created a profile for him, but is there any way I can help in other ways for Black Heritage records? I did look for slave schedules for Franklin but have not found any yet. Feel like the young man is just in the wind now. Thanks.
