Was Nelson County Virginia in existance in 1759

Question

If he  was  born  in  1759---was it Nelson  county  then?  Old  Nelson 1785 -- New  Nelson formed 1807  Thanks  Also  I  want  to  add  a  Southern  Colonies  sticker

This is a good site for county formation:  Virginia Formation Maps (rootsweb.com)   and just a note that in Virginia records stay with the original county when a new one is formed, so you often have to look at multiple counties even when the person never actually moved anywhere.
