merging my gedcom with my account profile

After uploading my gedcom into Wikitree it says I have made 1397 contributions but I can only see myself in my WikiTree. I do not understand how to merge the gedcom I have imported with the only person in my tree, myself.  I have read what it says in Merge with your account profile. The gedcom I have imported does not start with me but with a presumed ancestor born 1746, I believe. I have imported from a PAF file where the first entered person is John REFFELL born 1746. Is that what is meant by the first person in my gedcom? Is he a nuclear relative to me through his presumed relationship with Joseph REFFELL born 1789 who is my greatgreatgrandfather? Do I have to put John's WikiTree ID in the second field? What do I put in the first field? Do I have to replace my details with John's in my profile's Edit page? In the Gedcom Processing Report I am listed as (1271)/4877183 and in my watchlist as (Reffell-185). Which of those is my Gedcom Created Profile? When I click on my name on those pages I come to my profile where the merges can be made but there it says there are none to make. I am most confused by all this and think that the instructions for getting your imported gedcom contributions added to your tree need to be made clearer and comprehensible for first time gedcom importers to WikiTree such as me. Please if anyone can tell me what I need to do to get all the contributions I have made by importing the gedcom and the changes I have made in them after import visible in my tree I shall be most grateful.

It looks like you created 2 profiles for yourself, the first when you joined WikiTree (Reffell-1) and the second when you imported your Gedcom (Reffell-185).  To correct merge 185 into 1 from ADD>Matches & Mergers. This should fix the problem.
