We need help finding more sources in collaboration for the parents of Florence Irene Ford (1861 - 1871) and it seems not much info about her genealogy. There seems to be some info on Reddit. Anyone want to jump in and see if they can find more good sources for this family’s genealogy?

Thank you

There is a 1850 (slave schedule) with Washington Ford mentioned.

This Record might possibly be her? Seems to show a white father and black mother and mentions Alfred Winn and Ellen Winn?

1880 census shows Washington Ford (Single)?

Andrew:

This looks to be his will - https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8995/images/005818326_00252?usePUB=true&usePUBJs=true&pId=4923593.  It mentions his wife Ellen, but does not mention any children, though it does make a bequest to a local orphan asylum and mentions some friends.

Ellen Wynn married in 1840 and would listed as Ellen Ford.  Her husband's will names her, Ellen H Wynn, as his wife and beneficiary and was probated 5 Nov 1887.

Wow this is fascinating history! yes

Found the Wikitree profile for William Tiler Johnson (1809 - 1851)

I think it's fascinating.
Jaspar Winn is living with Ellen and her husband in the 1850 US Census.  I believe he is her brother and Baylor Winn is their father.  Baylor Winn shot and killed William Johnson over disputed boundaries.  There are historical sites, articles, etc, that cover this story.
So this seems to confirm her father was the Baylor Winn/Wynn connected to William Johnson “Barber of Natchez” very interesting as Williams son Byron Johnson died in like manner them the grave of Baylor’s granddaughter being intriguing! Families seemed intertwined historically
I've been looking at this family, parents, siblings, etc, and find Jaspar and Ellen together in the 1850 census, page 3 of 51, and Baylor Winn, his 2nd wife Elizabeth, and two children on page 10 of 51. (same census) Baylor's will excludes his children and he specifies which four he's excluding.  Ellen isn't named.  I wonder if that was because she married and left home so young and was self sufficient?

I found the following (unsourced) statements on www.ancestry.com - https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/tree/44624763/person/7014264475/media/2702a9ee-1c06-430d-bb11-1d4299ca2798?_phsrc=qcN39167&_phstart=successSource - attached to Baylor Winn.

It says that he was the subject of one of the most famous trials in Mississippi history,  During the trial in which it was alleged that he was black, he claimed that he was a mix on white and Pamunkey Indian.
