Problems with sources for Jonathan Tipton ?

In looking at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tipton-128 I was not clear if the "sources" listed were any good - they do not seem to have citations to primary source data and all the books I could find that are referenced to not seem to have citations. Could a Source expert take a look? I marked it Unsourced but if that's wrong remove or let me know.

I agree that the sources don't appear to be primary ones, but that profile is not unsourced.  The bio looks like it could use some help, and there probably are some good primary sources to be found but it shouldn't be labelled "Unsourced."

The profile seems to be for the man who is DAR patriot #A115933, born in Frederick County VA about 1750, died in Kentucky in 1833.  His Revolutionary War pension records are digitized at Fold3 beginning at [Page 2 Revolutionary War Pensions - Fold3 pension].  The pension records include a letter from Jonathan's children stating that Lavina Stevens was NOT his wife, although she claimed to be and received some of his pension money.   Definitely worth reading!

The DAR patriot #A115933 Major Jonathon Tipton (born VA/died KY) has a transcribed pension record (transcribed by L. Terry Rich & Will Graves) posted by Southern Campaigns Revolutionary War Pension Statements and Rosters - #W1098 (filed in Tennessee). His heirs filed in Kentucky.

* http://revwarapps.org/w1098.pdf filed in Overton County, TN (posted by http://revwarapps.org/ ) - has his statement that he was born 1750, Frederick County, Virginia

* http://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search_adb/?action=full&p_id=A115933 - born VA, died KY, service in NC

(sorry - for some reason formatting such as bullets & editing to provide a clickable link aren't available to me just now) and yup, definitely work reading (all the through to the additional info at the end)

The birth of Jonathon Tipton is in Massachusetts, U.S., 1620-1988. This in ancestrylibrary.com.  The actual record is very difficult to read.  Needs library card.

I think that is a different person.
I believe you are right.  This is not that the right Jonathon Tipton.

However, I did use ancestrylibrary.com and found a Jonathon Tipton born 25 Apr 1699, born Saint James Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  Father is Jonathon Tipton, Mother is Sarah, in Maryland, U.S., Births and Christenings Index, 1622-1911.  FHL Film Number 13280. He is also on SAR membership 80830.

Also found marriage 1726, Maryland, to Elizabeth Edwards.

Let me know.
