Hello WikiTreers!

Week 35 of the WikiTree Challenge for Lorine McGinnis Schulze has wrapped up. It was a whirlwind week full of collaboration, profile additions, and incredible discoveries! Team members once again took on the challenge and wow'd us with their activities.

These challenge participants added 421 profiles to her branches. There were 106 direct ancestors and 315 nuclear relatives added to WikiTree. 19 of these direct ancestors were beyond the brick walls and completely new to Lorine! Additional direct ancestors filled out her branches beyond that, with some reaching into the 17th century!

Altogether, more than 36 members made 3,333 edits to her ancestor profiles. Many did research, while others worked on profile narratives, looked up articles, added categories, and contributed in other ways.

Here are some highlights from our discoveries:

  • Parents for John Fuller, Lorine’s 4th great-grandfather, were found to be Josias Fuller and Sarah (Honey) Fuller. Josias was born about 1729 in Kent, England. He married Sarah in Maidstone in 1746. His occupation was listed as a farmer in the poll books. There are now 6 new direct ancestors beyond John!
  • Captain John Moses (bef.1676-1733), Lorine’s 8th great-grandfather, has a family crest and a memorial slab in the church at St Laurence in Thanet in Kent. On a slab covered by seats; surmounted by the following Coat of Arms for MOSES, it says "Here lieth ye body of Elizabeth, wife of Capt. John Moses, who died June ye 28th 1735 in ye 54th year of her age. And likewise hereunder lies ye body of Capt. John Moses, who died September the 22nd 1733 in ye 36 year of his age. They left issue two sons and three daughters, viz: John, George, Elizabeth, Ann, Mary."
  • Parents were proven for Ann (Bird) Doust, Lorine’s 5th great-grandmother. Ann was born in 1764 to Stephen Bird and Mary (Bowles) Bird. She was the youngest of their six children.  There are now 24 new-to-Lorine ancestors on that line!!
  • A connection was made on the Elizabeth Allard line. This resulted in documented parents for Elizabeth (Munday) Drury. Elizabeth’s father was Norton Munday, the son of Thomas Munday. Norton married Jane Cooke in 1676 in Wye. They had two known children. Norton died in 1726, being about 70 years old! There are now 12 new direct ancestors past Elizabeth!!
  • Parents for Lorine’s 4th great-grandmother, Mary (Ansell) Elvery, were found to be Henry Ansell and Saran (Taylor) Ansell. Henry and Sarah married in 1770 in Sandwich, Kent, England and had at least four children.
