Advice before editing this pre-1700 Miner profile?

Question

I have information to contribute to the profile of Mary (Miner) Chipman. This is what I can add: birth date and early marriage in Groton, Connecticut.

These are the sources I am using: "Who Were the Chipmans of Delaware and Maryland"  from Mayflower Descendant, Winter 2003, Volume 52, No 1, Elizabeth Pearson White and Edgar Wagner Coles.

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Elizabeth Pearson White was the primary Mayflower Society historian for the Howland Family, and wrote four books on the Howland Family. This article and the research that went into it was later incorporated into the volume on the descendants of Hope the daughter of Pilgrim John Howland of the Mayflower.

Are you saying that I should not use this article on the Chipmans that was in the Mayflower Descendant?

No, not at all. I was just providing some back ground information, putting some perspective on Elizabeth Pearson White’s stature as a Holland researcher.

There were some errors made in the past in the Chipman family, and Mrs. White, and her collaborators, corrected it in the article you cite, and in the second part that was published in the succeeding issue of the Mayflower Descendant.

It is probably a good idea to cite this article on the full Chipman line going back to John Chipman and Hope Howland.
