Earliest Noted is Mathew Sizmore of the Virginia Company on July 18, 1620.

A quick review of Ancestry.com finds the Sizemore surname predominant in the South as far back as the American Revolution. They may go back further.

In some US censuses in the late 19th/early 20th centuries, it appears to be associated with Native Americans.
