How do I delete duplicate children from the family (Mother or Father) page

After a number of merges there are numerous duplicates on several persons on my trees , I need to remove them ie delete the dupllcates.

Actually, you need to merge the duplicate children. Find the lowest number profile page and merge into said page for each duplicate child.

 

The answer provided above by anonymous results in "orphan" profile pages, which is undesirable.

Merging....go to the parent's profile, click on the yellow/orange Edit tab.

On the right you will see a column of names under Chldren.  

Somewehere below this you will find a green [show merge options] click on this and note that each name has a box in front of it. Click on two boxes of children with the same name and then at the bottom, click on "compare".  This will take you to the compare file with both of them side by side. Confirm that they are truly duplicates, then at the top. click on Merge.  This will take you to the merge page where you again have the option of comparing data.  If all is correct, go to the bottom and click on Merge.

You will have to do this for each pair of names.

To remove a child:

On the fathers or mothers  profile page, click Edit at the top.

On the right hand side, where it says Children, click the add/edit.

Don't enter any details, just scroll down to the very bottom  to Remove Child:

Click the button next to the child or children you want to remove.

Then Save.

This method is not correct because the profile will still exist, except it will not have parents.  This means that later someone, probably an arborist, will find the two children realize that they are duplicates and propose that they be merged.

So you really need to merge them the first time.
