My great-grandfather John Henry Day was born in Tennessee in 1870. The exact location is still unsolved. Areas of interest are: Obion County, Lake County, Madison County, Maury County and Gibson County. His wife was Susie Halstead.

My grandfather John Isaac Day was born in Cleveland Tennessee. Not sure of his birthdate, probably 1860's. He passed in 1939.  He was a sportswriter and journalist, father of activist Dorothy Day.  It is possible that we are somehow related.

There was a John H. Day in the 1880 US Census in District 21 of Maury, TN at age 9.

He was a farm hand. His father was John Day, 30 yrs. old, born GA. His mother was Susan Day, 30 yrs. old, born TN. John H. Day had an 8 yr. old brother, C.C. Day, a 4 yr. old brother, Jas. F. Day, a 2 yr old sister, A.E. Day and a newborn sister, C.J. Day.

All the children were born in TN.
