News

  • As expected FindAGrave suggestions continue to grow as more data is updated.
  • In case of several same suggestions on one profile, status for them got separated and no longer act as a single suggestion. Changes were done on 960 Link suggestions, 840 and 890 Template suggestions, 880 Category suggestions and a few 860 inline suggestions. I did transfer all old statuses, where there is only one suggestion on a profile. In case of more, I can't really tell for which suggestion the status was entered, so it was not transfered.
  • Suggestions now became a part of Edit Page. You can set Corrected or False suggestion there. Both can/should have a comment. And that is integrated in WT+ suggestion system. It should be synced in a few minutes. I will finnish that during the day.

Previous News

  • After 5 stars update I also adjusted the limits in stars assignement. New limits should be ok for a few years.
    • 1 star - 0-24 views (before it was 0-19) Profiles: 7470959 (before 5894723)
    • 2 stars - 25-59 views (before it was 20-49) Profiles: 6719302 (before 6861536)
    • 3 stars - 60-149 views (before it was 50-99) Profiles: 6605956 (before 5070238)
    • 4 stars - 150+ views (before it was 100+) Profiles: 4160908 (before 7130628)
    • 5 stars - 1000+ views and 100 unique viewers in 1 year (unchanged) Profiles: 71479
  • I expedited FindAGrave updates and now the memorial data is 7 months newer than it was. Now we are at april 2019. I will continue the updates and in a month I expect to have up to date info (a few months old). This is the reason for a jump in all FindAGrave suggestions and they will continue to grow as the data updates. Also some false suggestions will disapear.
  • I changed the British Aristo Sticker to the European one.
  • I updated the 5 stars list based on google usage. There may be new profiles included in the reports. You can see the reports in Category:DD_Stars_Lists
  • I added new reports that group Countries by Century. Automated:Group_Country_by_Century
  • I managed to improve the FindAGrave data and it will make the FindAGrave suggestions more up to date. Until now the data was up to 3 years old. Nov with the change dates from FindAGrave I can make that much smaller. I don't know what it will be, but I guess a few month to 1 year. I will know in few weeks, when updates will caught up. First huge change is a big jump in Merged memorials (586) and Deleted memorials (587). There is a jump also in other suggestions and they will continue to grow as i update more memorials. At the same time some false suggestions will be removed. 586 and 587 are also the suggestions for this week's challenge.
  • On Wikidata I started to populate NamedAs with P2949 Identifier. It looks like this https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q278490#P2949 It will make WikiTree link more noticeable. I still intend to add references to relatives and dates. But there are a lot of administrative talk before making bulk changes on wikidata.
  • I also helped reorganize profiles in European Royals and Aristocrats project, since the British one is being merged into it. That includes Project box and management changes on the profiles. There might be some jumps in the project related suggestions. It is still work in progress.
  • I added a new suggestion 593 - FindAGrave - possible spouse based on request of connectors project. It identifies missing spouse relations based on FindAGrave data.
