 Hello !

I can't find ANY blood-relative(s) here on WikiTree - ( on Relationship searchbar ).

The Relationship searchbar can not find neither my close blood-relative(s) - ( as the living ones : sister, father, mater... ), like the deceased ones - ( grandparents and so on... ).

Please, can somebody tell me, what can or should I do ?

Because, I've been trying already for 2 days to find ANYONE : so, where are my blood-relatives...?

Pleaseeee, HELP me find them !!!

A website with a more European focus, such as Geneanet, or possibly MyHeritage, may be more fruitful.

Hi, George !

I never heard - ( and of course ) never tried Geneanet. Maybe I will try to begin with my searching of blood-relatives there... ?

Anyway - I already have my HyHeritage account / profile, in which the system  found - ( by itself !!! ) " all " my blood-relatives soon, after I made my autosomal DNA test and I put it on. But surprisingly here - on WikiTree - are zero results ....

Begin by adding your parents, then your grandparents and your great grandparents. Along the way, you will probably find that someone has added one or more of your ancestors and you can then just connect to them without having to create their profiles. That is the beauty of our one tree. Maybe the person who created the profile(s) is a distant cousin who you do not know - until now.

The link your greeter left on your profile page for the New Member How-to has some great information and will answer some of your questions. If not, please come back here and ask. And...welcome to WikiTree!! We look forward to your contributions.

Thank you Peggy for the answer "star"! I appreciate it.

Hi, Virginia !

I already made my Family Tree - in which I added all my relatives  : sister, mother, father, grandfathers, grandmothers,  great-grandomother, great-grandfather and so on... And there I ( still ) didn't get ANY result(s) with finding my blood-relative(s) - NOT inside My Family tree, NOT outside of it...

You may have to put them up yourself.  I did.

Welcome to WikiTree, Irena!

I agree the best move is to add your family members until you find a family profile that already exists on WikiTree.

One more suggestion for searching. Have you used the search box at the top of your profile? You can use this a couple of ways. Search with just a surname and you will get a page like this:

https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Marolt

You can also search by individuals or use the * wild card in the first name field to search for anyone with that surname and then narrow the results by location or date.

Enjoy your journey back in time!

Hi, Peggy !

I already made my Family Tree - in which I added all my relatives : sister, mother, father, grandfathers, grandmothers, great-grandfather, great-grandmother and so on... And there are ( still ) NO results with finding blood-relatives - not  inside my Family Tree and not outside of it...

I also used the search box - and guess what ? No results...

What about sisters and brothers for your grandparents?  Then the  children of those sisters and brothers, and husbands and wives for the children - then their children, and so on.

The more relatives you add here, the greater your chance of finding other relatives.

Hi Melanie !

As far as I know my family, is relatively very mysterious and I don't know " all distant " blood-relatives, but I tried my best, to do a research about the family members, which I added them in here - on my Family Tree... But I can't find other blood-relatives - ( OUTSIDE my tree ), because WikiTree doesn't find ANY results - neither of my family members, which I added them to my Family Tree...

Irena, what others have been telling you is; even though there are 28,241,770 profiles on WikiTree it doesn't mean that your particular family has already been created on WikiTree. If you are looking for currently unknown family to connect with you may need to look on other genealogy websites.

If living relatives, such as sister, brother, father, mother, aunts, uncles, cousins have been entered here by someone else you will not find them on a search because they are living and their personal information must be private. You will also not find them on other websites.

Just for interest I looked on Family Search for people with some of the last names you have contributed here, the website is free to use, you do have to sign up.

Šmid has 74,253 entries in their family tree, Marolt has 5,825 and Vovk has 26,202. https://www.familysearch.org

Ancestry has over 200,000 for Šmid, 45,361 for Marolt and 4005 results for Vovk,  you will need to join and pay for Ancestry unless you use a free trial and cancel the account at the end of the trial period.

You can contact the people who have created trees on both Family Search and Ancestry, whether they will reply is another question entirely.
