Any idea what's going on here?

1) I took the following surnames which I know have Cornish ancestry from Ancestry DNA - Bolitho, Congdon, Pascoe, Treloar, Veale, Vine .

2. I then found my best matches shortest connection wise to them at Wikitree.

3. I then found my best Gatley profile connection wise at Wikitree. That because I have a larger match to a Gatley than to a Gatty within my cousin matches.

4. I then compared my best Gatley profile and the best Gatty profile, connection wise, I have with Bolitho etc . I didn't use my own profile because the number of connections are greatly increased  due to my half aunt's father(not a blood relation ) being one of the links.

Gatty-20 : Bolitho  21 degrees, Congdon 24, Pascoe 21 , Treloar 21,  Veale 20, Vine 21.

Gatley-35: Bolitho 13 degrees, Congdon 13, Pascoe 13, Treloar 13, Veale 12,Vine 11

As far as I can make out these are 'by marriage' connections .

On the Connection Finder, each profile has a little "x" in the corner.  You can use that to remove a particular person from the result.
Thank you very much. I've removed him. Unfortunately that's resulted  in a string of 'no connection  found'

Yes the connection finder uses relations by marriage as well as genetic relations.

So basically this tells me nothing of any value?
It depends on what you class as "value".
I mean that  nothing can be learnt from it that would be useful research wise.

Actually, I think there is.

The Connection finder doesn't do direct relationships, but it can show you where there are weak links, or places where there could be some tightening up of the lines.  Things that need to be checked, as they're marked as uncertain, or they look to be incorrect as the dates don't quite fit.
