I cannot trace parents of George Henry Mott born Knightsbridge 1838- 40 died 1909 West ham . He married Mary Catherine Quill (de Longford) in 1859 . Have found him in 1861  and 1881 census with Mary but no trace in 1871 with daughter Sarah ne 1865 and William ne 1867 and Agnes 1971. Mary Catherine is another problem as marriage certificate gives father as Morris Henry Hugh Quill de Longford but then the Quill bit is crossed out. She was born again 1838- 40 and all the records  mention killarney birth which is County Kerry Ireland.  I have found Mary Quill in the Irish genealogy site but the father is Thomas Quill and  mother Mary Hussy.  Any help wpuld be appreciated

happy new Year to all

I don't know much about British census records. Was there an 1851 census?

I have just discoverd Mott's in my line.  Have not entered them as yet.    Information you have posted sounds familiar.  Not sure how these posts work yet, so you will have to get back to me in a few days.  I will try to enter what I have by Wednesday next.   Or respond and leave your email address.
