Thank you, Betty Morgan, for your responsiveness four days ago regarding Margaret Guy who immigrated from Ireland.  My hunch is that it is a different Margaret Guy since the two places where I have my Margaret Guy located in the States are Baltimore, MD, and Des Moines County, Iowa, but I certainly value your offering.

I have a 1880 Census showing Robert and Margaret in Iowa with the children.  I also found a number of marriage records of the daughters getting married with Robert Miller listed as father and mother Margaret Guy.  I have been looking at Roberts immigration have found one that arrived same year as Margaret, Could be wrong but have Robert born in Ireland as well.

Thank you, Robin!  Sounds congruent.  I wonder if these Guys and Millers were Scottish before Irish.  I was always told my dad's side of the family was Scots-Irish.

I wonder if you are related to my great-aunt Nora Gallagher, whom I knew hardly at all.  My paternal grandmother was Grace Mae Torbert Wright, daughter of Mary Ann Miller Torbert.  Nora Torbert Gallagher was her sister.
I am actually working on my husbands family tree but yes, Nora Torbert Gallagher was my husbands grandmother married to Daniel Gallagher. This has been a tough line to follow.
I am in Iowa visiting my 95 year old dad and my brother.  We have quite a bit of genealogy information about the Torbert line going back at least to 1700.  But we know very little about the Guy line, which is peculiar to me because my maternal grandmother was related to my paternal grandmother through the Guys.  Would you like some or all of the Torbert connections?  Sorry it has taken so long for me to ask you that.

We have a family picture of the 50th anniversary of James & Mary Ann Miller with all the 82 people who came to the celebration.  We also have lists of each person by row.  If interested, let me know.

Have you found any further information about the Guys?
