Is Ann Cox really a Leonard?

I am not aware of any evidence of the parents of Ann Leonard (ca. 1672-1747), the wife of James Cox (1672-1750) of Monmouth County, New Jersey.

The profile calls her Ann Leonard and makes her the daughter of James Leonard (1643-1726) and Lydia Gulliver (ca. 1648-1705), both of whom were located in Taunton, Massachusetts.  There is nothing in the profile that explains why they would have a daughter in New Jersey.

The only sources that I see cited anywhere are ancestry.com profiles that cite one another and a findagrave.com link.

Am I missing something or is one of those unsourced things that has gained a life of its own?

I put what I found of her on her profile under research note. Did not find anything else.

I appreciate your taking the time to answer. It looks like you are the same place that I am - you can find people saying that Ann was the daughter of James Leonard and Lydia Gulliver, but no solid evidence.

I am troubled by the connection because it does not make sense.  None of her family members seem to have any connection with Monmouth County, New Jersey and none of her husband's family seems to have any connection with Taunton, Massachusetts.  Also, it seems strange to have a Massachusetts Congregationalist marrying a New Jersey Baptist.
