Seeking an obituary for William Strickland

William Strickland was a prominent architect in his day.  His last and possibly greatest work was the Tennessee state capital building in Nashville.  He died on 6 Apr 1854 in the middle of the construction of this building and was buried in a crypt in the walls of the building.  There seems to be no WikiTree profile for him but ref. FindAGrave # 7370529.

Family legend has it that one of my ancestors served as pallbearer at his funeral in Nashville.  I would like to turn this legend into something more factual and a newspaper obituary which mentions the names of the pallbearers would do nicely for that but I cannot find one on any site to which I have a subscription.  Can someone help?

Thanks Steve - a good c.v. for Strickland but not an obituary and thus does not identify his pallbearers at his funeral, which was what I was after.

I could not find a printed obituary, but exerpts from many sites indicate the funeral took place at the House of Representatives but no details on pall bearers, just that it was "packed with mourners":

Here is a google book link for a biography which lists many of his friends through the years, perhaps your ancestor might be listed among them:

You could also contact the Tennessee State Archives for records relating to the funeral:
