My 3x great grandfather was Willaim Herrick, b. 1800 in RI, d. 1858 in Providence, RI. He was married to Anna Lewis, born in Vermont. The had son Nelson, b. 1822, d. 1898, my 2x great grandfather. I believe William's parents are William H. Herrick and Mary.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Do you know for certain he was born in RI?

If he married a Vermont girl, might he have also been from Vermont?

There was a William Herrick, born in Granby, Vermont, 21 Aug 1795, son of Joseph Herrick and Anne?

Hello Anonymous,  Found some information that may be helpful, but would research it farther.  William Herrick b. 1801 in RI.  d. Jan 21, 1858 in Providence, RI.  Son of William & Mary Herrick.  William's Burial is:  Saint Patricks Cemetery, Providence, Providence County, RI.  http://www.findagrave.com  Memorial #143116198.  Married Anna Lewis, born in VT.  Their son was Nelson Herrick born Mar 1823 in Ontario, Canada.  He died Feb 03, 1898 in Saint Charles, Saginaw County, Michigan at Age 75 yrs., 11 mon., 17 days.  Loving husband of Christina (Martindale).  Dear father of seven children, four living at time of death.  Children:  Gillman, Alden, Eliza, Oscar, Almeda and Katherine.  Their names were given on his wife's memorial which I will give you later.  He was the dear son of William and Anna Herrick.  He provided for his family by farming.  His cause of death:  Heart Disease.  Note:  Father William was born in Rhode Island.  His Mother Anna was born in Vermont..  His Burial:  Riverside Cemetery, Saint Charles, Saginaw County, Michigan.  http://www.findagrave.com  Memorial #133485760.  Nelson's wife:  Christina (Martindale) Herrick born: 1824 and died 1901.  The rest of her information and the names of the children can be found at http://www.findagrave.com   Memorial #133485930.  Nelson's father William Herrick was born in 1780 and died Aug 09, 1846 in Beverly Essex County, MA.  Age:  68 yrs., 5 mon., 24 days.  He was son of William & Mary Herrick.  His burial:  Central Cemetery  http://www.findagrave.com  Memorial #122248352.  Did not find anything more on his wife Mary, nor did I find anything on William's wife Anna Lewis.  You may be able to find something on Nelson and Christina's children if you look them up individually on http://www.findagrave.com.  Hope this helps.

Barbara, it appers there are 2 William Herricks, both son of William and Mary. I am fairly certain the one born in Rhode Island in 1801 is the correct one.
