Sure thing. Since you uploaded your file it will ask you to Match to profiles that are already here before you can Add anybody. If you find a match for Hugh, could you post it here? Without knowing more about your family, it's hard to know which "Hugh Hannan" (or slightly different spelling) to look at.
You don't have to wait to do the matching on your gedcom either, that can take quite a while if you uploaded a large file. Just remember to touch it at least every 60 days so it won't be deleted. Nothing from your file will be added until you have completed matching all the profiles suggested (it's very manual but helps us to avoid duplicates).
So, if you just go to the Search page and find Hugh, you can post the WikitreeID here (Hannan-123 or similar) and that will help everyone to pitch in.
You could also just manually enter profiles, ignoring your gedcom for now, back to him, and then comment here, that works too.
