I've been trying to trace my family on the Young side but keep hitting a dead end with my great great grandfather. Elias (Escar?) Young, he was married to Mary Lunsford Young. They had four children Stanley Lillie Nancy and Mary Young. My mother remembers there being a lot of cherokee at my great grandmothers funeral. And rumor has it my great grand mother was at least half. Could this be why I'm hitting a wall? They resided in Lee co. Ky Thanks

Can you show any time frame such as birth year, marriage year, and or death year for Mr. Young and or Mary Lunsford?
They were married in 1897 in lee co kentucky. Elias was born in Nov 1871 and Mary Jan 1877. Both in Kentucky. No death dates however, I wish I could find some and where they are buried.

1880 US Census shows siblings, but where are the parents? Birth year estimate can vary depending on whether the census taker took the census before or after an individuals birthday.  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MC8S-4S4

Mr. Young and wife, Lunsford, with daughter, Mary.  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V2SK-XQ7

This Pedigree Resource File is from an individual submission. It's accuracy should be verified. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:M17R-2FC

You may want to enter your information at  familysearch.org  The results could be evaluated by yourself and you may be in the best positon to reason what is a good fit and what is not.

Thanks for the info, thats him but were is his parents information. I find it odd that I can't find anymore information on him. I know the census had him listed as white but if there was infact Native American ancestory could that be why I'm hitting a wall?
1900 US Census has Eli with wife, Mary, and two children, Stanley and Lilly. It shows that his parents were born in KY, but no names are given for them here.  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9HV-2WT

We know from the 1880 US Census that Eli had a brother 4 years younger who was named Moses. There was a Moses Tarpley Young who died in 1932 in Berea, Madison, KY. His father was D. M. Young and mother was Martha. Moses had married Elizabeth. No birth year was given for Moses T. Young.  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N9B9-JKM
