With her husband Peder (Per) Svendson Lerving they came to the United States in the 1880's. The information I have not located is on her family pre marriage, Sweden, Norway.

Do you have their marriage registry, her death registry or obituary?  Is there any history on them in Rice County?

Hello Lynn and thank you. I have all details for her after coming to the US in 1881 or 2. It is her family in Sweden or Norway as well as 5 daughters that supposedly arrived with the parents and three other siblings. I have the two brothers and my g-grandmother, and I know one brother stayed in Norway but nothing on the sisters after arriving. I dont know if they returned to Norway or just didnt make the passage. I know she was from Sweden, as my grandmother also said as much but I have not been able to locate any connections prior to her children being christened in Norway
Sometimes death registries and obituaries and histories of the family will tell about other family members, ie. father, mother, sisters, brothers, and where they are living. That is why I ask if you have located any of that here, it can lead to the old country.

Good luck.

Do you have a profile for her with any more information?

No child registered in church book for born in Trankil on that date.

Hello Maggie and thank you. All of her information refers to her being from Trankil. Other than that I have no other information prior to her children's baptisms in Norway and everything from her arrival in the US says the same.

I can't say that it is for sure her, but there is a Maria Lisa Olsdotter born in March 1822 in Trankil, (here with family https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0039169_00121) and she probably is the same person who later lived in Norway:

The last link is to a marriage, but it is not to someone called Peder. The marriage record could of course be for some other Maria Lisa Olsdotter, her place of birth is just Sweden.

I found a better marriage record now. Marie Lisa Olsdatter marries Peder Svendsen.

This 1875 census has Peder and Marie with 5 kids still in Aremark, Norway and the last three have already emigrated to North America.  At the upper right you can click on the "scanned" link to see the hand written record which shows more clearly that those last 3 are in America.
