HELP! I somehow accidentally linked "Robinson-35743" to James Robinson as both his FATHER and his SON.

I was multitasking with too many screens open, and somehow I somehow accidentally linked "Robinson-35743" to James Robinson as both his FATHER and his SON. (He's only his son.  But there are multiple generations and branches with matching names and I was - I thought - keeping them all separate on different screens, but apparently not!)

How do I now "un-attach" / "delete" the senior-most generation?

Just edit James's profile and detach the father.
Melanie,

James is fine as he is.  It is his father, Israel ("Robinson-35743") that is the problem.  He's in the correct place as the father, but mistakenly got added in place of Israel Robinson, the grandson as well.  I don't know how to undo the mess.  And I am not the manager of James' page in the middle, to make matters even more confusing.

I've never had a problem where someone else's single profile crops up in the middle of my line like this before, in all the thousands of profiles I've done.  (But then, I've never made a screw up like this either..! haha  Maybe that is what threw me off!  lol)

If anyone has a suggestion, I'd be so very grateful.  I am usually very resourceful at figuring things out, but I am stumped.

Removing Family Relationships

Removing family members is done from the same edit pages as adding and changing them, described in the section above.

The one exception is siblings.

Sibling relationships are based on the parents. If two people share one or both parents they are considered siblings. To remove a brother or sister you need to remove the incorrect parental connection.
