No info (other than names) of g-g-grandfather, John A. Walters (killed in nitroglycerine explosion). Lived in Butler PA around 1880. Son: Perry Dana Walters (my great-grandfather, also killed in explosion in 1927).

Hi Kristina, we would need a little more information to help out. Do you have a profile started for him? Providing a link to that would be good.

It would be helpful to have a birth date, was he married? Names of children etc. Where was he living at time of death, where was the explosion?

I did a search for the explosion but not totally sure if this is the one you meant? Could not find his name associated with it.

Here is an article about that explosion that says a third man may have been in the truck but he is not named. There are some people on the injured list by the name of Walter/Walters. Is this your family?

newspapers.com has an obituary for his wife which adds some information about the family, but does not mention her former husband - The News-Herald of Franklin, Pennsylvania - 26 Nov 1926, page 10 - Mary Elizabeth Walters died in Los Angeles hospital, born in Venango county, June 27, 1847.  Lived with daughter Nellie Zahniser of Huntington Park, California.  Dana Walters of Shelby, Montana another survivor, among others

Best way to do this is to start a profile.  I took the liberty of starting one here:
