Trying to find information on Sarah "Sallie" (Wilhite) Freeman

+4 votes
Sallie is my great grandmother but I have little information on her. She was born in Georgia in 1870 and died, according to my grandmother, in Texas in 1898.  I can't find a death certificate for her in Texas, Georgia or Alabama (where the kids were left by their father after Sallie died).

I can't find the family in the census records either.

If anyone has any information about her, I would be greatly appreciative if they would share it with me.

Her maiden name has mutliple spelling - Wilhite, Wilhoit, Wilheight, Wilheit, etc

Because of their marriage date and her death date, I really doubt you will find a Federal Census Record.

The 1890 Federal Census Records were mostly destroyed.

That's true. Forgot about that. Thanks.
Don't know if this is the correct person, but within  your DOD  timeline
I don't think this is her, but thanks for trying.  She died in Texas, so I assume she was buried there.  If she was taken back to Georgia, I imagine she would have been buried in Jackson County near her relatives.  I have no relatives at all from the Richmond County area.

Thanks, Lawrence. I just found the marriage record, but thanks for the census record.  I'd really like to find  a census record of her when she was married to Milton, but haven't had any luck yet.
