Question

Do you love merging and helping others out with merging? The Arborists Project needs you!

If you meet the criteria below, just answer this post and we'll join you up!

1. An active Wiki Genealogist for at least 3 months with at least 1000 contributions.
2. Able and willing to collaborate with and communicate effectively with other members.
3. Able to add reliable sources to profiles on WikiTree.
4. Enjoy merging profiles, and confident you can do accurately.
5. Familiar with the Arborists project page and help topics on merging and duplicates on WikiTree; see Help: Duplicates.
6. In the last month, have proposed at least 10 merges and completed at least 20 merges.

Once you have joined you are able to spend some time in our self-directed Arborists Skills team where you can continue to build your confidence and competence in merging.

Hi!  I'm looking at the Arborists Skills Team page and I have a question.  It suggests: Complete merges from the 'All Pending Merges Waiting for Action' tab on the Browse Matches Tool.

I can't find either the "Browse Matches" tool, or the 'All Pending Merges Waiting for Action' tab.  Where are they located?

I would like to join the Arborist project. I had been working at cleaning up data Doctor suggestions on projects I’m working on or regions I’m interested in. I enjoy merging profiles and would like to contribute more in this area. I’ve read the Arborist project page and Skills steps for new Aborists. My focus primarily would be in duplicates for Michigan, Ontario, Arkansas, Texas, Ireland.  However, I can help out on any area of focus needed. I would like to continue to improve my skills in this area by collaboration with other Arborists.  Thanks

I'm not sure if I answer this post before I get the required merges or after.  I might need to wait 30 days for some, but I have lots of proposed merges this month.

Also, what is meant by 'completed merge'.  Does that mean only approving the 2nd half, or does it also include approving the 1st half?  In hindsight, that was probably a dumb question, as it probably means the merge effort after both approvals.

Is there an easy way to track my number of completed merges?

Never mind, I counted 25 merges the hard way.

It was easy to count my 36 proposed merges, but easy count will go down as merges complete.

Yes, I would like to join. I have been trying to do as many merges as I could to help cut down on the list. I think I may have done around 200. There are 12,500 contributions to check my work. A lot of the 755 Thank Yous have been for merges. I am retired military. We lived (and sometimes died) by an honor code. I take the WikiTree Honor Code seriously. I am not knowingly going to do anything against the goals of WikiTree. I am proud of the organization and amazed by the quality of people who are making WikiTree something to be proud of. WikiTree has good records, it should not be too difficult to check if I meet your standards. Thank you for considering me.
