Found his parents Thomas Jefferson Wales and Mary Ann Clem. Will be working on this line as he is my 8th cousin 2 times removed.

Hi Jennifer. I'm doing a little work here, after arriving in a roundabout (and confusing) way.

Siblings Mary Wales and Thomas Wales married siblings Thomas Clem and Mary Clem.

Mary Lou (Wales) Clem (abt.1850-1920) married Thomas David Clem (1848-1932).

Thomas Jefferson Wales Jr (1847-1919) married Mary Ann (Clem) Wales (1845-1881).

Thanks for your work on that Jennifer and Chris!!
It's a ways back, but after noting the name of Cord Erskin Wales's mother was Clem, & had been connected to Klemms from Ittlingen in Baden, Germany, I had to revisit my own family tree, as I have Klemms from Ittlingen as well. Turns out I already had part of this line of Jimmy's family on my Ancestry tree, but hadn't gotten around to moving a couple missing profiles over, such that the lines were connected. I have just done so, making Jimmy & I half-8th-cousins once removed.
That's so neat, Thomas!
Awesome Thomas! Did this make a new connection to the global tree?

New connection to son Ervy's wife Tula's grandfather Lewis Watkins (was unsourced, not now!).

Also new connection to aforementioned daughter-in-law Tula's father Joe Toone, who is no longer unsourced and has had a DNA connection since 2012. :-)

Mindy- it was a connection further back on a branch that had already been connected (by Viktoria Pilnik, it looks like, going through the changelog), so I can't say it was an entirely new connection for Jimmy's tree specifically, but a new connection in the global tree, yes
18 degrees

Julie Holland (that's me!) to Cord Erskin Wales

This is FUN!

Connection: daughter Gladys, her husband Joe, his mother Dianna Baugher. Dianna's cousin Sam is the great-grandfather of our member Tim Feldhausen, another DNA tester.

Thank you Karen, Thomas, and Julie for your work on these lines!

Connected Ines Brock-6894 to Guyan B Biggerstaff-456. Through her brother Llod Brock-6936 and his wife Quilla Biggerstaff-457. Currently adding Quilla's mother who was Guyan's first wife and not yet on WT.
Found Ines parents, so she Brock-6894 is connected to Brock-3257
Nice work Lin and Kathy! Are any of those connections bounty?

I can't remember what is bounty

WikiTree profiles weren't connected, and now they are.

Daughter Ethel's husband Hartsell descends from John Crenshaw, whose profile was created in 2016. John is an ancestor of one of our members. More connections!

Son Clarence's mother- and father-in-law have been on the tree since 2014. :-) His mother-in-law is Emma (Roberts) Sanders.

Great Karen! Thanks for making those connections!

Son Mazra's wife Ethel's grandfather Dallas Woods joined the tree back in 2016 and is part of a Woods name study. Now he'll be two steps closer to "The Duke" (John Wayne) through his granddaughter.

with the merge of Baugher-372 into Baugher-369, I will have connected Jimmy to his 3rd Great grandfather, Woodward H Baugher (1823-1891), who was already on the tree.
That sounds like bounty, Donna! WooHoo!!
I also connected Jimmy's 3rd great grandfather's, second wife to her father who was already on WT.   Philemon B Hilliard (1805-1868)  who was also his cousin so maybe that is part of the same connection?

I connected Jimmy's line to Isaac Gatlin (1808-1888) who was already existing on the tree.
Yay Donna! Which ancestor did you start with?
Never mind, Donna. I found it
Through Bessie's brother Athey (Turner-38716), and after I added his wife. I made a connection to the global tree through her father, who was already on WikiTree. I'm not sure if this actually counts as a bounty, or does it have to be a direct ancestor of Jimmy?
Hi Robert. The rules changed to only count the first connection on each line to the global tree. Thank you for making another connection though! Each of your new profiles will award points automatically.

Working on this line, parents, grandparents and GG grandparents found.

Ann

I have connected Sarah (Eason) Tombleson (1790-1865) (alread on tree), to her parents Samuel Eason and Elizabeth Colestone.

I have connected https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mark-147 (who is already on wikitree and connected to the one tree) to her parents

I've connected the Dudley family

Pardon Latham, Latham-2216,  is a Mayflower descendant.

Mary Louise Dudley, Dudley-4772, is descended from Private Elon Lee, Lee-35788, who served in the American Revolution.   under Captain Hand and Col. Talcott.   (Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Genealogical Research Databases, database online, (http://www.dar.org/ : accessed January 1, 2022), "Record of Elon Lee", Ancestor # A068534.)

I am excited that i found another connection to the big tree for the Dudley line.

Wilbur-530

Another connection to the one tree through https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tape-2

Two more connections to the one tree through Lyle-57 and his wife Mary (Bate) Lyle (1793-1851) :-)
And another connection! Lyle-1023
And another! Lyle-592
You have all done some awesome work on these lines! Thank you Ann, Joan, Maddy, Janine, & Nancy!
I created his father.  What are bounty points?  Can I use them at Costco?  Lol

Hi: Not participating in the challenge this week but just taking a peak.  It looks like Mary's brother Edward survived a near fatal stabbing in 1895.  This article describes it as a "mortal wound" but it looks like he managed to pull through.  Buffalo Evening News June 27, 1895 (Old Fulton Postcards)

Good heavens, M! That poor man survived.

Mindy, I think Steven Greenwood got some bounty points! Thanks so much. All the way back to Hanß Levenichts!

And Marta too for Schroeders line.
I added the Schmidt line, and wife Krabb (Krabben?). Florian and Steven gave the go-ahead,
Krabben is a case for Krabb (nominative).  Even the proper names have declensions in German.

Someone FOUND Christina's maiden name! This is so amazing.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Normann-61

Yes, it was Marta who went through the baptism records line by line and found Normann in two of them. I updated accordingly.
Great work! You all accomplished a lot. Thank you Maggie, M, Kathy, and Steven!!

Take a look at this potential merge!

I found his father to be Michael Coleman on John Colemans death certificate on familysearch. I also found him in the 1880 united states federal census. I do not know how to cite my sources. I actually looked at the sources in the familysearch family tree.

Brenda, adding sources is easy.   Take a look at Michael Coleman's profile now.  It actually takes less effort to copy the citations on Family Search than to type out an explanation as you did (though that made it easy for me to pick up the citation).

On FamilySearch, go to "Sources" on the profile.  Click to open the one you want to cite.  After the details of the transcription, there is a "citation."  All you need to do is copy that and paste it on the Wikitree profile.  Hope this helps.

Thank you Kathy Rabenstein
I just connected Jimmy Wales to the main tree though Henry Clay Baggett, Baggett-798, who was already in the tree. The connection is 7 degrees, with 1 marriage.

It connects John Dodson Coleman to Henry Clay Baggett though a daughter, 5 degrees, 1 marriage.

once the merger of of Gardner-18679 into Godwin-1478 goes through, another connection to the main tree.

Zula's sister Lula lost her husband Lafayette Brooks to a tragic accident as he alighted from a train. She was left with five children, from 9-year-old Earl to young Lafayette just five days old. She remarried Alfred Allen and had two more sons.

I I found Zula's mother's full name on Family search.org. I also added Nancy Angeline Catherine Bunch's Mother.
Wow, how tragic Karen! Did you add that to Interesting Finds?

Did now! Also new connection - Zula -> sister Lula -> new husband profile Lafayette Brooks-22491 -> existing father Cornelius Brooks-15652 (and mother Brooks-14613).

She is 5 degrees from a patriot of the American Revolution who I just added: John Brooks

Edited: Actually he was already here with a late birthdate and no sources, I did a merge: John Brooks

So I guess that's a new connection rather than a new profile 5 degrees out.
