Advice before adding of this pre-1700 Lauderdale profile?

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Hello, family trees are not sources & are not good enough for a pre 1700 profile. Are there any actual sources attached to the tree on Ancestry? The sources are what you want to add to the profile.

I think there is a Scotland project who may be able to help you (?) You may want to add the Scotland tag to get the attention of someone more knowledgeable.

Just a quick look at Josiah raises questions -  Josiah Lauderdale (parents unknown?) was born in Thirlestane Castle, home of the Earls of Lauderdale, who have the surname Maitland not Lauderdale. Is this birthplace supported by documentation?
