Moncton, Oct 8, 1879, The Times: "A little girl, aged 7 years, d/o Stephen Edward Bent, J.P. Bentville, Annapolis, Nova Scotia was killed Saturday afternoon....When I read about this child whose future was cut short, I wanted to know her name, which led me to her orphaned father, http://wikitree.com/wiki/Bent-546.  I adopted him and will improve his profile. I adopted his first wife who it turns out is a relative and I'll improve her profile.  More work needs to be done on this family.  I learned who the child was and will create a profile for her. Her parents must have been heart broken.  She was getting a ride home from the fields and fell off an ox wagon.

Thank you, Susan, but perhaps if you could say why you chose this as best answer.  I feel certain that someone will disagree, hit the star button and remove your choice.  This has happened to me three times in the past few months.  Maybe if you say why, the person will understand and not be so willing to remove your choice.
I choice this wonderful story because it gave me goose bumps the store are so wonderful and I had to read it several times thank you Pat for sharing this wonderful story

Thank you, Susan.  I was moved by the newspaper story and it didn't name her but gave enough information to learn who she was.  http://wikitree.com/wiki/Bent-1616  Harriet P. Bent now has a profile.

Such short life and a tragic end, it's so good that you have given her a presence on WikiTree
Thank you, Gillian, for your comment.  Yes, we need to give profiles to those who die young.

A brother of a paternal ancestor of my wife was Christian Friedrich Rohlfs (1849-1938), a famous German painter.

Through his paintings he has created something for the future. Therefore, this week I will make his profile more accurate.

This time of year is traditionally when those who can foresee the future release their predictions.   I decided to look at one of the most famous American psychics, Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cayce-25  Cayce correctly predicted the crash of 1929 and World War II.  I will be be adding some documentation to his ancestors.

Looking toward the future, I will work on the profile of my mother's first cousin, Mary Ann Long Rader. I can easily connect her husband to his ancestors with only adding two generations. They had 5 children, who are my second cousins. I will add as much as I can find, and I will work for accuracy. Hopefully, someone from this family will be interested in working on our family in the future.

This is a very interesting topic because the future for my ancestors is now the past for me.  And my future is unknown to me.  But I believe they had hopes for the future just as I have.  For this week, my future says that I will work on the biography of Maria Kajsa Augustsdotter (Augustsson-155).  Her hopes for her future were somewhat limited because she was deaf (at least partially) and as a result she was unable to speak.  She must have wanted to be married because she eventually did get married.  That was later in her life.  I will try to sensitive to her story and tell it in a way that she would find fitting.

2022 is the year of the 100. birthday of Doris Day. Her mother is not yet connected to her father, because the profile of Doris' mother is put on yellow privacy. In the comments there are several requests to connect Doris' grandfather to his daughter, but they are obviously ignored. So if the Team could take care of that, the Tree would become once again more accurate this year.

Chris, I also love the possibility to have trees floating around the Big Tree and then hopefully eventually connect them.

Thinking about all of the people who immigrated to provide a better future for their families, I was lost as to which in my family to improve.  So, because as usual, my time was sorely limited by the holidays and all that I do to make future memories for my family,  I adopted an orphan, Edwin Thomas Forward.  Edwin's parents, Jonah and Elizabeth Stantial Forward, immigrated to the United States in the 1840's, during the massive influx of immigrants to this country.  They at first lived in New York, where Edwin was born and then moved to Illinois where they are found in the 1870 census.  Travel in this time was no small feat and I am always amazed at the migration of my ancestors and all the others that literally were moving forward to their future, seemingly with little regard for hardship.  Edwin found a wife in Illinois, married her in Wisconsin, and then the family continued moving forward to Iowa, where their children were born.  Profiles are needed for his children and his mother.  His father, Jonah, was already on WikiTree and is now connected (me looking forward to our theme for 2022 -- year of connections).

This answer resonates with me because I have been researching my husband's grandparents.  Three of them were 2nd generation Americans and the 4th immigrated from Italy in 1912.  She came at the invitation of her soon to be husband who was searching for a girl from 'the old country' as he (and she) looked forward to a future family in this new country.
Indeed, Carole.  My grandmother immigrated from England in the 1920s to be able to go to school past eighth grade.  She put herself through high school and college while working in factories and helping to care for other's children. All to provide a future out of the coal mines for her future family.
