Shearing, Shearin,is my maiden name. Shearing in the early 1700's Va. Shearin after that. I have documetation that a John Shearin b.1626 married and Elizabeth Hackwell, 1646,St. Dunstan ,Stepney, England. Not sure if he is kin to the Joseph Shearin my 7th great grandfather of 1687,Va.There is a story that claims Joseph was the son of either Aaron or Moses Shearing. And that their father was the said above John.It is also said the brothers were sent here as a punishment for helping in the Monnmouth Rebellion in England. And that they were indentured by Gideon Macon  Of Kent,Va. I have found no proof of that yet. But Macon's son were friends and neighbors to the my Shearin family in North Carolina. I believe there is a connection and I want to either prove or dis prove the stories. Any hep would be great, Thanks!
In return I may can answer some questions also.
