Sweden records for Johan Thorsson aka Scoggin

I seek any information that might lead me to my immigrants family in his country of origin.

This information from Dr. Peter Stebbins Craig recognized as leading expert on early Swedish colonists.

The earliest reference to Johan (Jan in some records) Thorsson who later took the name Schaggen in is the records of New Sweden by Hendrick Huygen who listed Joen Toarson stating that he was hired in Gothenburg Sweden in October of 1639 as a laborer. He is listed adjacent to Mans Andersson hired at the same time and with whom he is often associated in the records of the New Sweden colony. They both arrived on the ship Kalmar Nyckel arriving in Fort Christina on 17 April 1640. They both became freeman in 1644 and were engaged in tobacco farming. They both migrated to Fort Casimir near what is now Swanwick north of New Castle, Delaware.

It was at the time of this move that Johan started using the name Schaggen later Scoggin.

Some researchers suggest with no documentation that he was born in Gothenburg, Sweden 1620. The date is close but this might just be the port of departure.
