Thank you for your generosity. (-:
I just checked the Wikitree article. While it is better sourced than it once was, it still also focuses on combat, overlooking his Committee work and legal case with John Vassall - which illustrate his capacity to use words and logic as well as the courage of his convictions.
If I take this personally, it is because I am also a descendant of the Vassall family, through Resolved White-505. The Vassalls are not the role models I would choose. Benjamin Robbins Curtis-8278, and his brother, George Ticknor Curtis (no profile found) are more my style. Unless you click the link to the Wikipedia article, you'd have no clue as to their connection to the Supreme Court Case, Dred Scott v Sandford.
For a long while, I also was focused on names and dates in working my family tree. It takes a long while to develop awareness of the communities, discover the stories, and develop skills to share them. Please accept my contributions as shares rather than disparagement of the work others have done to get Wikitree to this stage.
