Waiting years for a merge, Can this merge take place?

Merge request is four years old. There are no records for her birth. Both are estimates (1714 and 1724)

Can these be merged?

Linda, it's not a proposed merge - only an unmerged match, so these profiles are not awaiting a merge.  An unmerged match is used to indicate that the profiles are believed to be (as opposed to known) duplicates, but more research needs to be done before they can be merged.

I do agree that 4 years is more than ample time for the additional research to have been done. From my very quick look, I don't see any reason to be postponing the merge, but I am completely unfamiliar with the involved people/places/time frame.  I checked and 1 of the profile managers is active, as well as the member who created the unmerged match.  Why don't you write to them and ask if these profiles are ready to be merged yet?
