Help finding great grandmother's death details

My paternal grandmother Maria Margareta (Lindahl) Juneby (1910-1993) was given up for adoption by her mother Alma Gustavsson (1889-). I have found multiple records for her, but I can't find accessible records after 1924. Can anyone point me in the direction of finding any other information? Something else I'm struggling with is finding my grandmother's Maria Margareta (Lindahl) Juneby (1910-1993) biological father. He isn't listed on any of the census records on riksarkivet.

I added the Sweden tag, so more people see your request.
Thank you for that, I'm new to the tag thing.

You are welcome! I normally respond to Sweden requests/questions on g2g, but I do not have the dödbok. I thought I would add the tag instead, so that one of the awesome Nordic Project members can help. wink

In Sweden we have about 100 year of secrecy. So on Riskarkivet you cant acess the churchbooks which might have living persons registered in it.

But there is a way to go a little bit around the problem, and it is to buy acess to some records, like "Sveriges befolkning" or "Sveriges Dödbok", They are recors of peopole living in Sweden on a specifik year like 1910. or information about their life if they have died within a specifik period.

I checked in on the year 1910 and this is what I got up:

Alma is then living in Råsunda, Solna, Stockholm and working with various things. (Diversearbetare) . With her lives two kids. Bror Filip and Maria Margareta both are bastards.

I also checked the deathbook and Alma died 1963-06-11, lived at that time on Roslagsgatan 38, Stockholm. Divorced 1958.

Bror Filip died 1926-12-31, lived at that time on Järnvägsgatan 18, Sundbyberg, Stockholm. He was unmarried.

Thank you very much for finding this information! I will look into getting the Dödbok so I can solve some other mystery deaths in my tree. Her life was even more tragic than I thought. Losing her second son the year after losing her mother. That's my guess as to why she gave up my grandmother for adoption. Then losing another son later in life.
Feel free to contact me by pm if you need help finding more information in the deadbook. Im glad to help out.
Hi Hans, the newest Dödbok can be found in Rötterbokhandeln

https://www.rotterbokhandeln.se/product.html/sveriges-dodbok-8

It is really useful, because it contains "all Swedish deaths" between 1830 and 2020!

(When you buy it you get an USB-stick, with a program that you install. Works best on Windows.)
Then if you want to pay for a subscription, you could get ArkivDigital. There are searchable household examination book indexes now from 1800 to 1947, and also includes Sveriges befolkning 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970 and 1985 (if I remember correctly), among other things.
Thank you for offering to help Robert. Thank you for the information about the Dödbok and ArkivDigital Maria. I had assumed that it would be the same as riksarkivet, but it sounds like I should look into it.

The collected birth and death records for Swedish parishes are available through 1949 at Riksarkivet and searchable by parish and year (sadly not by name). Sometimes I find records there that I didn't find in the individual parish records https://sok.riksarkivet.se/scb-fodda-vigda-doda

svenskagravar.se and gravar.se can help when looking for a particular burial, especially if you don't know parish or year.

For a biological father, sometimes a note will be made in the birth record or in the parish household record for the child or mother (I have seen this added years after the child's birth, presumable because parentage was established legally then). Other times, you will need to look in the legal records for the local court and see if he is listed in a paternity case.

Not sure if there is a way to get hold of the adoption papers to see if he is named there, but maybe one of our Adoption Angels will know (you can add the adoption tag for them to see the post).

Good luck!

Thank you very much for all the information Elisa. I will try to get a hold of the adoption papers to see if the father is listed. Thanks for the suggestion about the Adoption Angels as well, I've contacted them before and will hopefully get advice soon.
There is also a possibility to locate Barnmorskeböcker that could hold some clues for parents. They should be located at Landsarkivet of the region or, if in a town, at the Kommunarkiv of said town.
Thank you for the advice! Looks like I can't access the Sundbyberg ones online. I'm not currently living in Sweden, but I'll convince my dad to go check it out since he has been curious about his mother.
