Brick wall seekin death records

According to family lore my granddaddy was killed in a hunting accident based on my calculation between 1900-1908 as best I can figure. I have not found a death certificate or notice of his death or killing.  None of living relatives knows anything that can break this brick wall. Any suggestions?

Depending on where it happened, a death certificate might not exist.  At that time a lot of places in the US did not yet issue them.  I would try to find a newspaper story.

Once you create your grandfather's profile, the dates and locations and related people should provide the info needed for us to help find something.

Herbert is exactly right about the approach and the needed information.  At that time period, the most likely source is probably local newspaper articles about the death.

The local newspaper if they had one may not be in existence.  What I could determine that my granddad was last seen in the 1900 census and his death may not have been recorded because in Alabama the records for death started around 1908. I’m trying to find out when he died. Would probate have that info.

Can you post his name, DOB and County in AL where he died.  that would give us something to research with.
Even better, create a profile for him including that information.
