Is Clara Susan Kennamer really my GGreatgrandmother?I have been on a  trip for many years t rying to find out about my Greatgrandmother and then I found out about Clara whose family came over here from Oppau ,Germany  around 1620.It sounds so romantic to me  that I really want  her to be but many of her family say they haven't even heard of  my Greatgrandmother 's name  in t heir  family tree .So  I still go back and forth on Ancestery looking at the names and some of the people have her on it and some don't.Please if you know anything about Clara Susan Kennamer and William Carooll Thomas and their family   from Madison County,Ala  in the 1800's let me know because I am very interested.Oh my Greatgrandmother's name was Anna Eliza Thomas she married John Webster Baker ll from Madison county,ALa

Here are some likely candidates from that site.  This Clara was b abt 1812-1813 in AL, parents both born in SC.  Husband William C b abt 1803-1806 in TN, parent b VA.

If you plug in the various children's names from the census data, you may find out more and confirm that this is the correct Clara.  For example, when plugging in Montgomery Bennett Thomas, there are several census that the location is: Kennamer, Wright, Marshall, Alabama - which means the township/area is named Kennamer - maybe after Clara's ancestors???
